The beach has fine, soft sand and shallow water with various rare species nesting in this area. Therefore, nature’s beauty is not disturbed, resulting in a beautiful yet unusual beach to visit. Access can occur by car.
Balos
The lagoon of Balos is a unique destination in the northwest of the island, which connects the mainland of Crete to Tigani island. The beach consists of exotic white sand which stands in contrast to the vivid blue ocean water and thus, creates an astonishing view. For those looking for wild natural beauty, Balos is truly a place to go. The beach can be accessed well by car.
A long sandy beach on the western coast of Crete which is quite well-known. Due to its length however, it does not feel crowded during peak seasons. With its fine sand, clear water and small waves, it is a wonderful beach and even more, one of the best places to watch the sunset. Access to the beach is quick and easy with the car.
The beach Seitan Limania belongs to the most beautiful beaches in Crete. Close to Chania, in the northwest of the island, the beach is relatively small as it is in a cove surrounded by rock formations. Whereas the beach is secluded, meanwhile it is not too unknown, but still definitely worthwhile seeing. For nature lovers it is a beach that should not be missed. The way to the beach is a bit more difficult as it requires a hike of about 20-30 minutes.
Preveli is a beach that stands out due to its combination of crystal clear water and palm trees that create a caribbean feeling. The beach lies on the south coast of Crete near the imposing Kourtaliotikos Gorge. A hike along the wild canyon which is lined with palm-trees is already worthwhile but also the beach itself is a wonderful location on the island. Access is possible by car.
