Hi, I’m so glad you’re here and I look forward to sharing the next edition of The Journal with you. As the days get longer and warmer, and nature begins to bloom, it is beginning to feel a little like spring. I can’t wait for walks during golden hour, deep talks, visits to cute cafés in the city, runs in the park and lots of sunshine, and I hope you feel the same.

There are phases we feel lost, we question everything, we ask ourselves what we are doing this for. In-between phases where we have let go of the old but not yet found what is new. And in these times of transition, it can feel overwhelming. We may feel a lack of direction, uncertainty, doubts and insecurities becoming loud. Yet it is in these moments of ambiguity, that we have the opportunity to grow, to heal, to rediscover and reconnect. When we embrace the discomfort that comes from not knowing what lies ahead and trust in the unfolding of our journey.

One decision can be powerful. Many seemingly insignificant choices add up. They come together and determine the life you are living. And so every choice you make, no matter how big or small, matters. All the little choices you make daily, from the food you consume to the way you spend your time and the people you surround yourself with, define a part of the life you are living. And in every moment we have the ability to choose again. One thing over the other. Moment after moment and day after day. Each time, we are free to choose. Choose whatever feels good for you.

If you feel a lot of pressure and do not feel free, it is often not your circumstances but you. Your thoughts, beliefs and feelings are limiting you. They are holding you back. You are putting most of the pressure on yourself. Although there may be societal pressures, the greatest pressure comes from within. From our own expectations and standards, from the fear of being wrong or making mistakes and from a desire for perfectionism. A lot of the time, the high sense of pressure we feel, is the exact pressure we are putting on ourselves.

invite more creativity and intuition into my life. I will make more space for the joyful, spontaneous moments and listen closely to what my heart speaks. Less existing, more living.
2
leave my comfort zone more often, in order to grow. Acknowledging my fears, setting goals, reframing discomfort as progress, taking small steps forward, using opportunities and making small changes daily, I will extend the boundaries of my comfort zone.

This month I am particularly thankful for the change of seasons. For the ever changing nature of life and the opportunity it has given me to pause, reflect and be grateful. As the environment begins to change, I have found solace in transitions and was reminded that growth often emerges from change. And on a completely different note, I would also like to mention how thankful I am for my driving teacher, especially for her kindness, encouragement and support – so thankful she believed in me.
